The Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards is one of the nation’s most highly regarded student awards programs. The purpose of this Awards program is to recognize outstanding students who have not only maintained good grades but have also unselfishly applied their special knowledge and talents to contribute significant service to their schools and communities.

Silver Knight Category Winners earn $2000.00 and Honorable Mention Recipients earn $500.00

The Miami Herald Silver Knight Awards are also recognized by all Florida Colleges and Universities.

To Be A Candidate You Must:

Begin your community service project prior to your Senior Year – The earlier the better. Some students begin their projects in 9th grade.

Unweighted 3.2 GPA by your Senior Year

Silver Knight Categories:

There are 15 categories in which you can represent your school. Your service projects do not have to be affiliated with your category.

Art, Athletics, Business, Drama, English & Literature, General Scholarship, Journalism, Math, Music & Dance, New Media, Science, Social Science, Speech, Vocational Tech, World Languages
